Case Study for The Bow

Project Profile

  • The Bow is the new corporate headquarters for Cenovus Energy Inc. and EnCana Corporation.
  • At 58 stories and 775 feet it has been designated as the tallest building in Western Canada.
  • The Bow is home to over 20 miles of demountable walls, one of the largest demountable wall projects ever undertaken.

Project Summary

The Bow is the first tower of its kind in North America and is a part of a distinguished list of office towers world-wide that have redefined modern engineering.  The aerodynamic crescent shape significantly reduces exterior wind resistance, 'down draft' and urban wind tunnels. Inside, the shape creates a floor plan that maximizes access to views and natural light. It also creates a collaborative and open workspace for its occupants.

A long time business associate of McIntyre Group, Teknion was awarded the demountable wall contract for The Bow.  With over 112,000 accumulated linear feet of moveable walls, it was agreed that this project was too large for any one installation company. Teknion selected McIntyre as the project management and logistics partner for this massive undertaking.  McIntyre Group managed the installation, receiving, inventory, and delivery of over 1,000 trailers of architectural wall.  Teknion understood from the beginning that to be successful they must partner with companies that could provide the expertise and resources to complete a project of this size.  McIntyre Group was recognized as a company that could balance both of these challenges in a very demanding labour market.
